BRIEF REVIEW OF SELECTED FILMS

The films that were considered this year and ultimately selected for the Festival of Tolerance program testify that tolerance is needed all over the world more than ever before, at least in recent years. The diversity of topics, authorial approaches and different film genres and types of films that have found themselves under the common denominator of tolerance this year, confirm that in the third decade of the 21st century mutual respect is under a great threat. Brave, communicative and artistically relevant, this year's films introduce us to a world geographically distant from ours, as well as those in our immediate vicinity. In both cases, however - these are our worlds - because human beings, no matter how different, all share the need for respect, understanding and protection in their humanity. Film art has the power to meet that need in a truly strong way.
