STUDIO SMIJEHA: MARINA ORSAG I VLATKA MIFKA
Biography
These two women have been performing together for some time and it is impossible for either them or the audience to tell which one is a bigger loony. Women with offbeat brains and even more offbeat jokes will make you laugh to tears with their quirky ideas and interesting state of mind. With Marina and Vlatka, the evening can't go wrong, especially when they perform together.
Marina Orsag is the eternal Peter Pan. With her inexhaustible energy she has the capacity to lead the audience through absurd channels of her mind.
She is the founder of the Open Microphone Evening (Večer otvorenog mikrofona), stand-up comedy workshop and comedy club Studio Smijeha, as well as one of the founders of the stand-up comedy scene in Croatia. In the seventeen years of her career, she has had over 3,500 performances in the region and the world, she was proclaimed the Best Stand-up Comedian of the Balkans in 2013, the best comedian of Continental Europe and Russia in 2015 and in 2018 she was named the European Hero of Humour in Amsterdam.
Vlatka Mifka is an infinitely nice and silly person. Thanks to being 178 centimetres high, she has successfully fought against the stereotype of short Slavonians. Every once and awhile she fits the stereotype of round Slavonians, but this is so only for holidays and most of the winter. Her shoe size is 41, and that horrifies her grandmother "because it's not nice for a girl to have such big feet". Despite that, she still hasn’t succumbed to her grandmother’s standards of beauty and cut off her own heel, and she considers that to be a reflection of her inner strength and character. She is a cheerful and joyful person, except when hungry. And, when she's not happy. A specialist for cracking up in the most inappropriate situations and a person whose brain sometimes works too fast for her own good, and too slow to stop her mouth from spitting certain thoughts out.
